How we treat each other
One page. Read it once, and the community opens — every room your membership reaches, plus the Encouragement Wall, which is yours either way.
Kate is still writing the full version of this page. She wants to get it right rather than get it fast, and it isn’t the sort of thing to hand to somebody else. When it’s ready it will live here, and you’ll be able to read it in a couple of minutes.
Until then, here is what she has already decided — and none of it is going to change.
What this place is
Somewhere to be honest about how it’s actually going
The good weeks and the ones where nothing went to plan. Both get the same welcome.
-
Assume the person is doing their best
You are reading a sentence, not a life. Somebody posting “day one again” has usually already been harder on themselves than you could ever be — so meet them where they are, not where you think they should be.
-
Nobody asked to be fixed
Advice is welcome when it is asked for. When it isn’t, “me too” does more good than a plan. Encouragement over correction, every time.
-
No shame, no shaming
Nothing that shames a body, a food, a setback, or a starting point. No “you just have to want it enough”. No before-and-after culture. That is the thing Whitehead Wellness exists to undo, and it does not get to live here.
-
This is coaching, not medicine
Please don’t diagnose anybody, including yourself, and don’t hand out medical advice — even kindly meant. If something needs a doctor or a therapist, the kindest thing you can say is so.
-
Kate reads what gets reported
Every room has a way to flag a post, and it goes straight to Kate — not to a stranger, not to a filter. You never have to explain why. If you got it wrong, that is fine; she would rather look at ten things that turned out to be fine than miss the one that wasn’t.
